BASIC HAND ENGRAVING
These are basic techniques used by arms engravers, jewelry engravers, silver engravers, print engravers, and enamelists. Shaping, bending, and tempering tools, are demonstrated. You will sharpen graver blanks. Graver blanks are furnished and 5 basic cuts are made with these including the wriggle, script or “V”, round bottom cut, and flat bright cut. Short cuts, long cuts, circles, and cuts to the right and left are practiced. During the last three days these basic cuts are assembled into scrolls, leaves, letters, and textures. Practice is done on copper, red brass, and steel plates.
Final projects – Choose from keychain, pendant, fob, or bookmark. Includes graver blanks, practice plates, one final project, printed set of notes, design transfer kit, and sample patterns of the class projects for future use. 

5 Days – 40 hours, $800.

INTERMEDIATE HAND ENGRAVING
(Experience required) You must know how to sharpen gravers or at least be able to read and follow the formulas provided for graver geometry without much assistance – assumes that you know all the basics. Background removal, fine silver wire inlay. Onglette, round, inlay and background removal gravers will be made. Brass inlay tools furnished. You will also need the tools similar to those we used in the basic workshop. “Trick” tools will be demonstrated. Practice is done on steel plates.
Final projects – Choose from steel buckle, floor plate, or letter opener. Includes inlay tools, silver & copper wire, practice plates, one final project, printed set of notes, design transfer kit, and sample patterns of the class projects for future use. 
5 Days – 40 hours, $850.

ADVANCED HAND ENGRAVING
(Experience required) 4 different scroll styles, intricate border treatments, fine silver sheet inlay, overlay, basic scenery, advanced layout, sculpting, and very simple bulino. 2 bulino tools (dot and line) will be made in the workshop. Various chasing tools will be demonstrated. Practice is done on red brass and steel plates.
Final projects – Choose from steel buckle, folding knife, or chasing hammer head. Includes punch blanks and bulino graver blanks, practice plates, one final project, printed set of notes, a cast copy, images, or patterns of the class projects for future use. 
5 Days – 40 hours, $850.

RING ENGRAVING: 3 Day
Intermediate to Advanced: (Experience required) Must have your own gravers. You will engrave outside shank and sidewalls, Heraldic and monograms. Practice is done on copper, and red brass, plates and rings.
Final projects – Choose from a pair of sterling bands or a signet ring. Includes practice plates, brass practice bands, one final project, printed set of notes, layout templates, design transfer kit, and sample patterns of the class projects for future use. 
3 Days – 24 hours, $480.

BASIC WESTERN ENGRAVING
Used to embellish “Cowboy” silver. Buckles, loops, tips, conchas, cantle plates, corner plates, bridle & halter trim, bits and spurs. You will make 4 gravers from blanks, they are flat, liner, wiggler and “V”. Practice is done on copper and red brass plates and blanks. Silver is available.
Final projects – Choose from sterling keychain, pendant or earrings. (Sterling money clip, bracelet, conchas, buckles, loops & tips optional). Includes graver blanks, practice plates, one final project, printed set of notes, design transfer kit, and sample patterns of the class projects for future use. 
5 Days – 40 hours, $800.
